The LED driver module uses the HV9910 integrated chip. It has the following characteristics: high energy efficiency over 90%; wide voltage input of 8 ~ 450 V; output current adjustable from a few mA to 1A; can drive up to 100 LED lights; PWM regulates current. Figure 3 is a schematic diagram of the LED constant current source driving, which is a typical buck-boost converter design. The input power supply voltage Vin=12V in the driver drives 3 to 6 3 50mA high-brightness LED lights.
 


 

Introduction to HV9910:

The HV9910 is a high efficiency PWMLED driver control IC that effectively drives high brightness LEDs from an input voltage range of 8VDC to 450VDC. The chip can drive external MOSFETs at a fixed frequency of up to 300KHz, and its frequency is controlled by external resistors. In order to keep the brightness constant and enhance the reliability of the LED, the external high-brightness LED string is controlled by constant current mode instead of constant voltage control. The flow value is determined by the external sample resistor value, ranging from a few milliamps to 1 amp. The HV9910 uses a high voltage isolation connection process to withstand surge input voltages up to 450V. The output current to an LED string can be programmed to any value between zero and its maximum value, which is controlled by the external control voltage input to the linear dimmer of the HV9910. In addition, the HV9910 also provides a low-frequency PWM dimming function that accepts a control signal that is externally several kilohertz magnetically dimmed at a 0-100% duty cycle.

Functional description


1. Input voltage 8V to 450V DC
2. Current sampling input of LED string
3. Chip ground
4. Drive the gate of the external MOSFET
5. Low-frequency PWM dimming pin, also an enable input pin, internally integrates a 100kΩ pull-down resistor to ground.
6. Internal linear power supply (typically 7.5V), capable of supplying up to 1mA to the external line. When the AC input voltage is near zero at rectification, a large enough storage capacitor is used to provide energy.
7. A linear dimmer is used to change the current limit threshold of the current sampling comparator.
8. Frequency oscillation controller, a resistor is connected between this pin and ground to set the frequency of PWM.
